Firmware 5.0.1 iPhone4 works fine
Same here ...
I also had trouble w/ TANGO. They still send me monthly bills 0f 0.03 € despite the fact that I canceled subscription some 7 years ago.
OT: Also ... today I called their helpdesk for some infos about Tango Blue (their LuxFibre peoduct). I elected to speak to a lux. agent and got a french one. I asked ybout IPv4 and a "Public IPv4" and got "What is IPv4?".
No thanks!
The only advantage I see is that they provide Internet/fix. tel. plus mobile tel, which VO doesn't.
The problem of the 5.0.1 firmware was the "Invalid SIM Card" or "No SIM Card" messages with some SIM cards (i.e. the ones from LuxGSM here in Luxembourg).
Since I use a tandem SIM card (2 SIM cards with the same number) which is not available in a new version I had to stick to the old iOS 5.0.
For the first time ever Apple released an updated firmware without changing the version.
The new 5.0.1 firmware (Build 9A406) released last week works nicely with the older SIM Cards.

A german magazine was talking about similar problems with one german provider, and that the "fault" was indeed Apple's.

?!?!
I just checked via General > Software Update my version. It says:
iOS 5.0.1
Your software is up to date.

Yes, indeed. There were also other countries/providers with the same problem.
It is a combination problem of 5.0.1 firmware and specific Sim card(s).

About > Version says it's 5.0.1 (9A405).
How do you get the 9A406 firmware?
I did not specify it but this new 5.0.1 firmware is only available for 4S iPhones.
You can download it here (I had to because iTunes encountered an error during the upgrade): http://appldnld.apple.com/iPhone4//041- ... store.ipsw
To install it via iTunes press Shift and click restore, thereafter locate your downloaded file and follow the normal procedure.
