Receipt Request w/ JBed iPhone

Post by geohei »

One of the flaws regarding SMS transmissions is, that receipt requests are not possible w/ regular iOS iPhones. I read that FBed iPhone can do this. However the article didn't mention the App to download.

Any idea which one would do this.

Same question but more general ... is there some kind of website, which lists the repositories able to enter into Cydia.
Furthermore ... is there a website which shows the Apps which can be downloaded of these repositories?
It's all a bit jungle like ... :P

Thanks,

Salut,

I use the "SMS Delivery with Tick" or "iPhone Delivery SMS" addon from SOS iPhone.
That's a French repository: http://cy.sosiphone.com

Here is a list of some Cydia sources:

Ciao

I can download it using Cydia (iphonedelivery in Search), but not within Installous.
Does Installous not consider all Cydia entered Repositories?

I tested iPhoneDelivery 0.3.6.3.

Options:

1. Delivery Report
a. Disabled
b. Inserted in conversation
c. Full screen alert
d. Only the sound

2. Delivery mark
a. Discreet
b. Normal

Remarks:

1.a. no difference to 1.d.
1.b. works!
1.c. works!
1.d. no sound

2.a. see no difference to 2.b.
2.b. same as 2.a.

Besides this, when the message window is open (from the contact the SMS was sent to), the tick doesn't appear without leaving this window and re-navigating to it again.

Bottom line ... strange piece of software.

Yeap, that's normal. Basically Installous has nothing to do with Cydia.
In Cydia you'll find tweaks and themes (and some apps depending on your sources).
Installous on the other hand provides you with apps.

Indeed, some options are not really doing what they are supposed to or their name suggests.
But the must important is that you get a delivery report as popup, tick or message.
I also tested some other progs which did not work at all.

Thanks for the explanation!

SMS Delivery with Tick
... virtually nothing works. Also french BTW ...

I discovery "SMS Delivery Report" from CrowdCafé (0.79 €). Looked promissing, but supports only Tango. I wrote the developper a mail asking him to clear LUXGSM as well for the next release. We see.

Besides this ... the fact that "SMS Delivery Report" lists all supported providers suggests that the delivery report is provider related, hence not necessarily standardized. This could be the reason for the problems the 2 french Apps have. On the other hand ... why do other mobile phones support delivery report flawlessly as built-in feature?

Hi all,

Since the upgrade to iOS 4.1 the SMS delivery report does not work anymore.
Does it still work for you?
What "software" do you use?

Hi again,

I found a different piece of software that does the job:
iPhone Delivery SMS iOS4 0.3.6.3 from François Guillem to be found at sosiphone.com

Since upgrading to 4.2.1, no jailbreak anymore -> no SMS delivery App!
There's one, which is however only for Tango clients ("SMS Delivery Reports" - paying)
I tried it for my LUXGSM iPhone and it DOESN'T work.

Besides this (technically speaking) ... SMS delivery report protocols seem to be differenty implemented depending on network provider.

With some operators you can use the following codes in front of your SMS message to get a delivery report: "!", "#0" or "#nm" etc.
But they do not work with LuxGSM. There is no known code that can be used to get delivery reports from the LuxGSM network :(

Yep.

Just had a fun morning.
Updated to IOS 4.2.1 then ran the GreenPoison Jailbreak (http://greenpois0n.com/
Installed Cydia, added as source iphonedelivery.advinux.fr/cydia (actually it was still in there from previous jailbreak.
)
Still works; I get the delivery report integrated in the message thread. Works on my LUXGSM to other LUXGSM phone.

Is this a known issue due to Greenpoison?
Didn't find anything about it?

For me it least; if I google it; it'll show up. Same goes apparently for Redsn0w.
For now I just restored and updated to IOS 4.3; I simply need my GPS too often and prefer to live troublefree and pay for the couple apps I need. I hope a new jailbreak will be available, since I do like to have the sms delivery notification - which I lost now by going back to original state..
